Dear Dr Wendland,

RE: WENDLAND SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Wendland Scholarship Fund, formed under your auspices, has continued to be a blessing to the education of the pastors’ children in the Lutheran Church of Central Africa in Zambia even after you returned to your home country, the USA. The Wendland Scholarship Committee has continued to administer the scholarship fund on your behalf without problems. The scholarship fund is supporting both secondary and tertiary students.

After you left Zambia in 2022, the trend in our expenditure over the last three years has been as follows:

2025 $12,000 on 56 students

2024. $14, 335 on 50 students

2023 $14,063 on 54 students

From these figures, we hope you can see the range of our expenditure and of the number of students we are working with.

The scholarship fund has been a great blessing to the pastors in the LCCA-Zambia, whose congregations have been struggling to support them to send their children to school. For this, the LCCA pastors and their families in Zambia wish to thank you, our brothers and sisters in the USA, for blessing us with Christ’s love through your donations to the Wendland Scholarship Fund.

Please find attached the letter of appreciation written by Pastor Phiri’s son, Dalitso, a medical student who has benefited from the scholarship fund.

We continue to be united with you all in faith and in prayers for one another.

God’s blessings on you and your families.

In Christ,

Pastor D. Kamwata,

Wendland Scholarship Committee chairman.
